Sue Richardson
MA Learning and Teaching in the Creative Industries
Sue teaches the Postgraduate MA in Learning and Teaching in the Creative Industry. She began performing from an early age, and was playing with big bands by the age of 16.
She has many years of teaching experience including basic nursing skills, safe sex to probationers, music appreciation for adults with mental health issues, jazz workshops and degree-level music theory.
In 2017 Sue started a PhD at the University of Surrey. This formed part of her research into student success in Popular Music Studies in Higher Education. In addition to her varied teaching career, Sue is a jazz trumpet player, singer and composer.
Her 4th album, Too Cool, was in the The Sunday Times Top 10 jazz releases worldwide in 2013. Sue has even had the privilege of singing at The Last Night of The Proms and gaining a Blue Peter badge for singing Christmas Carols live on TV.
