Chris Tye
Songwriting Lecturer *
Chris Tye teaches Songwriting at BIMM Insitute Birmingham. He is an accomplished performer and songwriter as well as a composer for film.
As a BBC Introducing-backed artist, Chris has released a string of well-received solo albums including 2014’s 'The Paper Grenade' and 2017’s ‘Stronger In Numbers’.
Over the years has toured with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Ben Howard and Bic Runga. He recently composed and recorded music for award winning independent documentary 'Balancé' which screened at the American Film Institute documentary festival, and his first feature film score for BFI’s critically acclaimed ‘Irene’s Ghost’ which screened across the UK in 2019.
Chris has also released a string of successful sync music recordings for Warner Chappell and Universal Music.
