The Flavians

The Flavians, BIMM Insitute Berlin graduates of 2019, decided to collaborate across their different courses to come together as a band in the Autumn of 2017. After months of experimentation and writing, they independently released their first single ‘On The Radio’ in July 2018. Since then, the band has had their singles featured in The 405, Sleek Magazine and Frankfurter Allgemeine, with regular rotation on BBC Introducing and radio stations across Europe, such as DeutschlandFunk, P4, Radio Fritz, Český Rozhlas, Byte FM and FM4.

Throughout 2019, and their final year of BIMM, the band played headline shows across many cities in Germany, Sweden and the UK, as well as opening up for Catfish and the Bottlemen at Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin. This was followed with festival appearances at Glastonbury Festival and Reeperbahn Festival, as well as a support tour with Ten Tonnes across Germany in the Autumn.

In the final year of their studies, the band also used the studio time available through BIMM to record their debut album Ordinary People in an Ordinary World. The album was released independently in January 2020, on the eve of another opening slot for Catfish and the Bottlemen, and received acclaim from the likes of Zitty Magazine, OxFanzine and MusikBlog. After their release show at Musik und Frieden, the band settled into the swing of lockdown by building a studio together in Kreuzberg, where they have since recorded their follow up EP for release in April 2021.
