Nikki Camilleri

A&R

Nikki undertook internship roles with DMS Publishing, Modest! management and Warner Music Group before finding her feet in A&R & Streaming and Digital Music.

Nikki graduated in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in Music Business from BIMM London. Now, she works for Believe UK, an online music distribution company with over thirty global offices.

She manages releases for a range of independent acts and labels such as Ayelle, Nakala, MAAD, Eton Messy and Viper Recordings, helping them to develop and strategise as well as scouting and signing international talent to a vast range of services, from enhanced distribution to label services and record deals.

Believe is a parent company to Tunecore and is the fourth biggest global distributor for the modern Independent artist/label of any level. Clients include: Gavin James, James Vincent McMorrow, GRM Daily, Queen and One Little Indian (Björk) to name a few.

Nikki describes how she found her way into her current role after studying at BIMM.

“I juggled quite a few internships whilst in my three years at BIMM (which allowed for and encouraged such practical experience) including DMS Publishing, Modest! management and Warner Music Group – not to mention festival and event work at Glastonbury 2017, The Great Escape and several AIM events. These saw me meet some bucket-list worthy artists and industry professionals.

On graduating, I decided to take my first proper leap into a Junior Label Manager role at Believe, and a few months later I grew into my current role as A&R and Label Manager. It’s safe to say I tested out a lot of different areas when interning and fell into a great, creative role with a lot of freedom. No two days are the same! I love how connected to the artists my role is and I’ve only just started! I’m very much looking forward to what the future holds.”
