Frida Touray
Session Musician
Originating from Sweden, Frida Touray is a London-based singer/songwriter who graduated from BIMM Music Institute London in 2014. Her soulful and passionate vocal style has taken Frida worldwide, and her work as a session vocalist has seen her tour and collaborate with an impressive list of industry legends.
Her band, Native Dancer, released their debut studio album on their record label, Psychological Banana Records. They’ve seen success all over the world, getting booked for Texas’s SXSW and performing at Afropunk Festival in New York and Paris, WOMAD Festival, and more locally, Love Supreme. They were lucky enough to have opened for Lianne La Havas at EARTH in Hackney and NAO at Somerset House.
As a session singer, Frida has worked with Grammy and Mercury-nominated artist Lianne La Havas in her live band and the studio, including co-writing on Lianne’s eponymous album. Her most notable performances include support on Coldplay’s Head Full Of Dreams world tour and Lianne’s famed NPR Tiny Desk performance, which now has over 18,000,000 views on YouTube.
Besides writing songs for Native Dancer, Frida has co-written songs on both Lianne La Havas’ and Jordan Rakei’s albums. The single ‘Signs’ (from Origin) was also re-released in 2020, featuring legendary Chicago rapper Common.
Frida has worked with The Cinematic Orchestra, NAO, James Bay, Laura Marling, Mr Jukes, Ellie Goulding and Liam Gallagher. She’s also worked with Reuben James and Tom Misch on their new single ‘Tunnel Vision’.
2022 saw the release of Frida’s solo EP, Mending, which Frida called “a journey through love and relationships. It’s about how you evolve through them and how sometimes, painful and intense they can feel when everything feels unaligned.”
