Sina Theil wins "Hottest Act in Irish Country Music"

Former BIMM Dublin student and country rock artist Sina Theil won big at the recent annual Hot Country TV awards, when she walked away with the title of ‘Hottest Act in Irish Country Music’.

The event, which took place at the Slieve Russel Hotel, Co. Cavan, was completely sold-out with a crowd of 1,400 in attendance, including many of Ireland’s top Country music Stars such as Nathan Carter, Cliona Hagan, Mike Denver, Derek Ryan, Johnny Brady and many more.

The local singer-songwriter, who was accompanied by her manager Mike Gleeson, said: “We’re so incredibly happy and proud to receive this award. We’re working very hard to establish ourselves on the Irish Music scene and are so thankful for the support and recognition. A huge “thank you” goes to Hugh O’Brien and everyone involved, they are doing a fabulous job at promoting Irish Country music.”

Sina, who studied Songwriting at BIMM Dublin, also performed two songs on the night, accompanied by Matt Wilson (3rd year bass at BIMM Dublin) and Lee Murphy (lead guitar & mandolin) – her version of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” which to date has been played over 300 times on the Irish Radio and a very special version of “The Dutchman”; a track which will also feature on her soon to come Celtic & Irish folk album.

Sina Theil is signed to Naas based record Label Downda Road Productions and sponsored by ISS Recruitment & HR Services. Her latest single “East Bound and Down” reached #1 in the Irish Country Download Charts, this being her tenth #1 Single.

The track is also the theme song to “Full of the Pipe”, Irelands’ Biggest Truck Show, which took place at Punchestown on the 8th & 9th of June 2019 and where Sina and her band closed the main stage.

This summer you can catch Sina and her band performing a series of local and nationwide festivals and gigs including the Newbridge Junefest (14th of June), the Naas Wild Food Festival (5-8th of September), Bloom in the Park (Phoenix Park, Dublin), Cowboys & Heroes (Leitrim), Achill Goes Country (20th & 21st of July), the Mayo Manchester Tradfest (1st – 7th of August), the Ballymore Country Music Festival (5th of August) and many more.
