Student Success

George Ezra, who was discovered and signed whilst he was a student at BIMM Bristol, was one of 2014’s biggest success stories and most visible breakthrough artists.

His debut album flew off the shelves all year long, hitting number one in the album charts, and became the UK’s 3rd best selling album of 2014. In fact, the BPI certified the LP as “double platinum” — meaning it sold over 600,000 copies.

It looks like ‘Wanted On Voyage’ was one of the most popular presents unwrapped on Christmas morning too, as George has shot right back to number one in the charts three whole months after he last sat at the top!

Not that George will have much time to dwell on his success, as the success of his brilliant songs mean that 2015 is shaping up to be his busiest year yet.

He’s just made his USA TV debut on the huge Jimmy Kimmel Live show on ABC, where he performed his smash hit ‘Budapest’ to a cheering crowd.

George has clearly won over music fans stateside just like he has in the UK, as he’s returning to the USA in March and April for a coast-to-coast headline tour, and will be playing at the enormous Coachella festival in California.

In the meantime, George is wowing audiences on both sides of the globe, and is about to go on the road and impress the fans of two of the world’s biggest solo stars too.

He’s supporting both Sam Smith and Hozier on their huge north American tours, including shows at the legendary Madison Square Garden and three nights at the Forum in LA.

But right now, George is in Australia on a promotional tour, and hopefully he’s taking an opportunity to get some rest and soak up some winter sunshine, because the next 12 months are going to be incredibly busy for him!
