Miles Hancock is an award-winning composer, writing music for film, television, games and live performance. With credits ranging from drama (The Crossing: Jack King/Finite Productions) to horror (Don’t Blink: Jamie Weston/Sony Entertainment), television (Masterchef: BBC1/Shine TV) to animation (Magarwasi: Varun Nair).
Miles is also at home in writing music for live performance, often working with artists from a multitude of cultural and musical backgrounds. Most notably in the creation of Breakbeat Concerto, a concerto for beatboxer, turntablist and orchestra (performed in the UK by Beatbox Champion Reeps One and UK DMC Champion turntablist JFB, and in Armenia by 4x World DMC Champion DJ Mr Switch and The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, conducted by Sergey Smbatyan). Miles also composes and orchestrates music for Symphonica, an electronic crossover project for DJ and orchestra, who were nominated for ‘Live Act Of The Year’ at the 2016 AIF Festival Congress Awards, alongside Jack Garratt and Blossoms.
