Music Business Lecturer
Jürgen has been working within the music industry for more than 25 years in various areas of the business and equipped with some excellent knowledge of the German music industry including retail and media with a profound network of managers, producers, artists and promoters.
Jürgen began his career working for the strategic marketing division of EMI Germany, before being an A&R and marketing manager for domestic and international repertoire at the Warner Music Group company EastWest Records. Soon after he stepped into an international marketing position for New York-based Hip Hop label Tommy Boy Music, he took over the position as General Manager of PIAS Germany where he was responsible for the successful campaigns of artists like Editors, Soulwax/2manyDJs, Placebo, Grace Jones, Sigur Ros, just to name a few.
Since 2014 Jürgen has been in charge of the German branch of ADA, the Warner Music Group's international leg of label services for independent labels and artists, hosting big international labels like BMG, Epitaph or 12Tone along with internationally successful DIY artists like James Morrison or Macklemore. Jürgen is a true expert in successfully discovering, developing and breaking domestic and international acts for the German market.
