Senior Lecturer, Songwriting
Glyn teaches Songwriting at BIMM Institute Manchester. Songwriter, producer, composer, arranger and music director Glyn has lived and worked in Manchester since the 1990s as a multi-instrumentalist in many different bands. He’s most well known for being one half of the early 2000s electronic band Alpinestars, who released singles, 3 EPs and 2 LPs worldwide to much critical acclaim, including single of the week with NME in 2000.
They also toured extensively and headlined several large Manchester-based events before disbanding in 2006. Since then Glyn has done a huge amount of solo work under his own name, as well as the alias Lucien Caine. Most recently he’s become involved with writing the music for an up-and-coming TV series and the accompanying audio books.
Glyn co-produced with Andy Green (Keane) on Alpinestars's 2nd LP, has mixed with Dave Bascombe on Alpinestars's music and worked with the likes of Stephen Street, Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Sigur Ros), Rob Kirwan (Hosier) and Dimitri Tikovoi (Trash Palace).
Glyn has also produced and arranged music for Stephen Fretwell, Jesca Hoop and Liam Frost.
