Cormac Curran

Cormac studied piano and music theory in the College of Music from the age of seven, going on to earn a Degree in Musicology from University College Dublin.

He’s since performed and recorded with many talented artists, including Cathy Davey, One Day International, Ollie Cole, Gavin Glass and Rhob Cunningham.

Cormac composed and arranged the string and brass scores for the No. 1 platinum-selling album ‘Becoming a Jackal’ for the band Villagers, which in 2010 was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, a Choice Music Award and a MOJO Award. The single ‘Becoming a Jackal’ won the ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’ at the Ivor Novello Awards in 2011. Cormac has spent his last few years touring with Villagers and playing support to bands and artists such as Elbow, Neil Young, Grizzly Bear, Midlake, John Grant, The National, and many more.

When he’s not touring, Cormac teaches both keyboards and music theory.
