Alistair joined BIMM as Chairman in December 2016. A Chartered Engineer with an MBA from Stanford University, Alistair’s early career was in various field engineering, management and research science roles with British Aerospace and then Schlumberger.
Following his MBA, Alistair worked for McKinsey & Company before joining Blue Circle Industries, where he was the Group Strategy Director and then the Regional Director for Asia. He has been the CEO of Hays Recruitment for 13 years and was Chief Executive of Xansa plc. Until November 2015, Alistair was a non-executive director of 3i Group plc.
With over 30 years’ experience in leadership and management positions in Higher Education, Mark joined BIMM as Non-Executive Director in December 2016. He currently works as an Independent Higher Education Consultant working with a range of Higher Education providers across the UK and abroad.
As well as being a Non-Executive Director of BIMM, Mark is also Chair of the Strood Academy based in Medway, a Trustee of the Anglo-Portuguese School of London, and special adviser to Laine Theatre Arts based in Epsom.
Previously, Mark was Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University for the Creative Arts for 15 years.
Adam joined BIMM in January 2011, having worked in the Further Education sector since 2008 as Finance Director of an Apprenticeships training provider.
Before moving into the education sector, Adam held a number of senior finance and general management roles with organisations including Travelex Currency Services (Finance Director), DX Services (Divisional Managing Director) and Hays plc (Group Corporate Development Manager & Financial Controller). Adam is a Chartered Accountant and qualified with PwC. He also has an Economics degree from the University of Bath.
Bernard has over ten years of experience in the finance sector. In his current role as Group Director of Finance, he makes sure that a strong financial, strategic and commercial focus is maintained across the group. He first joined BIMM in 2016 as our Group Financial Controller, before being promoted.
Before joining us at BIMM, Bernard spent several years in senior finance roles in the healthcare PR and media sectors. He has also held group finance roles at Barclays Bank and Nuffield Health and trained to become a Chartered Accountant at Baker Tilly.
Bernard also competed as a junior international athlete, winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
Prior to being a non-executive board director of BIMM, Tony Wadsworth CBE was Chairman and CEO of EMI Music UK and Ireland.
Part of his 26-year EMI career included becoming Managing Director of the Parlophone label, which he re-launched in the 1990s.
The label achieved hits with artists such as Blur, Radiohead, Tina Turner and Queen. His next move to running all of EMI’s UK labels saw global success with artists like Coldplay, Kylie Minogue, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and more.
As well as being awarded prestigious music awards (such as the Music Week Strat Award in 2008 for outstanding contribution to the UK music industry), Tony was awarded a CBE in 2011 for his services to the UK music industry.
